Biggest Land Based Casinos For Your Bucket List

Many people have a bucket list: things they want to do or places they want to visit before they die. Some people dream of visiting the Grand Canyon while others want the adrenalin rush of skydiving. When it comes to entertainment, there are some casinos that are so spectacular – and huge – that they should not be missed.

WinStar World Casino and Resort – USA

WinStar World Casino is a gigantic entertainment complex situated in Thackerville, Oklahoma. Its 370,000 square feet of casino is filled with over 7000 gaming machines, a bingo hall fitting 800 players and about 100 table games. The “resort” part of WinStar includes nightclubs, a pool bar, golf course and spa – not to mention at least 17 restaurants. In total, this massive gaming attraction is spread over about 600,000 square feet and is an essential destination for everyone who enjoys a good time.

The Venetian Macau – China

Described as a “luxe palatial resort with pools and dining”, The Venetian Macau is situated on the southern coast of China. It includes a hotel which was built in 2007 and 1600,00 square feet of retail for those who prefer shopping rather than gambling. It boasts a staggering 3400 slot machines and 800 gaming tables. Apart from being one of the largest casinos in the world, The Venetian Macau is actually one of the biggest buildings in the world – definitely one for the bucket list.

MGM Cotai – China

MGM Cotai is very close to The Venetian Macau and is a relatively new attraction, having been opened in 2018. On top of a massive casino, is encompasses a hotel with about 1390 rooms and suites, a theatre, facilities for meetings and many retail outlets. Its spectacular design is reminiscent of a stack of jeweled boxes – a sight not to be missed. The casino holds at least 835 gaming machines and 410 tables.

City of Dreams – China

Another attraction in the Macau region is the City of Dreams, located opposite The Venetian Macau – very handy if you want to tick off two bucket list destinations in one go! A massive 420,00 square feet of casino space includes at least 450 gaming tables and 1514 gaming machines.

Wynn Palace – China

Barely a kilometer away from City of Dreams and The Venetian Macau, Wynn Palace is another behemoth of a structure, containing a 28-storey hotel, retail shops, and 424,000 square feet of casino space. The interior’s design is focused on flowers and incorporates floral sculptures and a floral carousel.

Bucket list bonus: Bellagio – USA

This casino is nowhere near as big as some of the above but is an iconic landmark on the Las Vegas Strip in Nevada. Apart from having been used as a setting in the films Ocean’s Eleven and Ocean’s Thirteen, this casino resort is known for its beautiful architecture and surroundings – based on the Italian town of the same name. Bellagio might not be the size of WinStar or the Macau casinos, but it definitely demands a visit if you’re serious about seeing the best the world has to offer.
